Happy Friday!

I don't know about you, but I have felt a little anxious for the last couple of weeks. When I get a little overwhelmed I like to go to my happy place, a.k.a Paris.

I hope you have a great weekend!

A great way to ring in 2008!

Well we certainly had a relaxing trip to Southern California! We were visiting my hubby's family. While the kids were playing with many new toys and hubby was bonding with his father watching The History Channel, I snuck into my in-laws movie cabinet and picked out four of my favorites. I watched all four movies, in a row, while laying in bed in the guestroom. Ahhhhhh! Now that is what I call heaven!

As if I didn't lay around enough watching movies, I also read this cute book in just two days. The first one, A Girl Like Moi, was fun also. I totally recommend them both. Click here for Lisa Barham's website.

Salle De Bain

For Christmas I got this fabulous book, written by one of my favorite bloggers! One day when I go on one of her shopping trips I will have her sign it! Anyhow, I read it cover to cover last night before bed...
...So when I woke up this morning I knew I had to do one more project before our six hour road trip. Below is my downstairs guest bath. Yesterday when I was at a great store, click here, I found some gorgeous taffeta with velvet. At $6.99 a yard I took it all...

...et voila! A little of The paris Apartment for me! Merci Claudia for the inspiration!

inexpensive artwork

I fell in love with this storefront in Paris (of course). Since we travel on a budget it was easier to take a picture of it, plus easier to pack in my suitcase. Thanks to Shutterfly I made it into a poster and am looking for the perfect frame for my living room. I don't think there is a flower out there that I don't love. What type of creative artwork do you put in your house?

My Happy Place

On a recent trip to Paris I learned that there is no more perfect
place than lying on the grass, at the base of the Eiffel Tower.
We all need a happy place and this is mine. I will share! If you
have not had the experience to see the E.T. sparkle, every hour
on the hour, it will take your breath away. As a matter of fact
when it begins to sparkle you will hear a loud gasp from all in
view . Where is your happy place?
