Ready or not, here we come!

...here we come! Hubby is so excited to take us to Tokyo and Hong Kong in May! We will be there for two weeks, instead of two years! He has graciously cashed in his business class ticket for our four coach tickets. This is a huge sacrifice for him!

Since hubby will be working for a good portion of the time, the kiddos and I will be on our own. If you have any suggestions of what to see in and around Tokyo or Hong Kong, please let me know!

Wow what fun!!! I have no idea what to see in Tokyo but have been to HK. We went when it was raining and overcast so weren't able to go up The Peak on a tram - I hear that is a must, great views. Make sure you do some shopping at the night markets in Kowloon. Easy to find, the public transport system is great there. The train takes you even if you are staying on Hong Kong Island rather than mainland Kowloon. I also heard it is great to do a day trip out to see Macau (I think it's called that...). HK airport is really cool, we ate delicious chicken soup there on our way home, and regretted not being more daring while in HK and trying more traditional dishes rather than being scared of getting sick!

Where to begin! First of all, have a great time. Some pretty common places to see:
- Harajuku (fashion wonderland, a little freaky)
- Roppongi
- Akihabara - Electric avenue, SO fun! So many gadgets, so little time
- Ginza - some of the most expensive (and famous) real estate in the world. Bring your plastic!
- Imperial Palace
- Asakusa - go see the big red lamp and the temple

That's a good start. Have a great time! :)

I forgot to mention that I can also give you directions and times for church meetings if you are planning on attending while you are here in Tokyo!
