"Under Attack " ~ Mamma Mia (ABBA)

I try to keep my blog upbeat and light, but I needed a place to voice some of my personal feelings. I felt there was no better place than here.
My political view on Prop 8 is and was no secret. It is no secret that I live in CA and am smack in the middle of the war. I am not here to change anyone's mind or even defend my own views. Many of you know, that in light of the election results my church (therefore ME) is under attack.
As I was planning my Sunday School lesson this week I found some quotes that were answers to my prayers and provided peace in this scary time. I wanted to share them.
"Stakes are a defense for the Saints from enemies both seen and unseen. The defense is direction provided through priesthood channels that strengthens testimony..." President Ezra Taft Benson
"Christ has, on occasion, been rightfully angry with backsliding Israel, but that has always been brief and temporary-'a small moment'. Compassion and mercy always return and prevail in a most reassuring way." Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
This second quote shows me how Christ handles situations just like this. To be like him, I also need to show compassion and mercy. This is a challenge for me when I feel attacked, but I know that is how I will grow and become a little more like Him.
God bless the United States of America!

I wish that I was able to be there tomorrow when you give your lesson. I am sure that it is going to be great. I coudn't agree with you more on the quotes. The lesson and the spirit that will be there, will be wonderful and a much needed gift.

I really enjoy your blog and love that you share all of your great ideas and opinions! Keep them coming!
Have a fantastic weekend!

My daughter sent me a link to your blog today as she just fell in love with the simplicity of the flowers in the vases in the photo.

She'd told me that she'd love to have one for Christmas.

May I ask where you bought it?

Hope your day is as peaceful as the picture of these flowers on your window sill.

I have seen the protest that have been happening on the television. I live in a small town in Idaho where the population is mostly LDS. I can't imagine what you are feeling, being directly impacted by it. We were going to visit down town Salt Lake this weekend, but changed our plans because of all the protesting outside the Salt Lake Temple. I hope things improve for the Saints in California! Thank you for sharing your quotes!

Anonymous- Thanks for the compliments. It is funny, I was thinking of changing my banner, but decided against it since you left that comment. I bought the vase set at Cost Plus World Market about two summers ago. I love it because it always inspires me to pick flowers from the garden to have above the sink. Good luck!
