Motherhood

When I began my blog it was just to inspire and be inspired in the area of home and design. Boy, have things changed. There are so many more opportunities for inspiration in life!

My sweet E has had an emotional week. As a mother, my heart is full when hers is full and it breaks when hers breaks.

She had her first big friend issue. It is so hard to sit by and watch all the pain that I remember oh-so-well.

This morning she woke up to some sad news. A girl E's age has died in a car accident. They were friends through blogging, but as you know, sometimes those who don't "know us" become our closest confidantes. Our prayers are with her family and the wonderful Jan and Mattie. We love you!

The blogging world is just incredible. I am still, daily, witnessing the miracles of Nie's recovery and all the generosity of bloggers all over the world. I know this little girl will have prayers from all over the world too. I am so grateful for this.

Jen you are so right. If you want to bring a mother to her knees you hurt her child. My oldest son Donald went to his first day of middle school and came home so hurt. All of his friends from elementary school for some reason decided to stop being friends with him. He was devestated (and so was I of course) but within a week he was well on his way to making new (and I think better) friends. Watching your child hurt is, I think, one of the biggest challenges of raising kids.

That is so sad but you are so right. I have only been blogging for weeks and I feel like I have this huge group of friends now! I just love it and I cannot wait to expand that group more and more every day.

Hope your daughter gets through this tough time...

I'm so sorry for E. and the little girl's family. *hugs* The world is full of pain and trials, but remarkably we find that it seems to bring out all the generosity and christlike attributes in people. Here's to baring one another's burdens.

This is so sad. My husband's grandfather passed away this morning, but it was somewhat expected. It's so much harder to loose someone who is young and full of energy. I lost a really good friend when I was about E's age and it was tough for me. Give E a big hug from T and I! And cherish every single moment!

Oh the sweetness of you 2. My heart was so full when I read your words Jen. I am so sorry that your daughter had to go through this too. I really want her to know that Mattie is doing better. Really better. We feel your prayers so deeply and it is helping so very much. It hasn't been the best of times, but it is a growing time. We are learning. Just like you expressed. It teaches us and humbles us. I appreciate your concerns. Your daughter is a blessing to Mattie. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Take care and appreciate all you do.
