Hong Kong Adventure 1

Yesterday we traveled from Tokyo to Hong Kong with much ease. Hong Kong is very, very different from Tokyo! It is not as clean and it is not as polite. But with that being said...it does look like a backdrop from a movie set. You look around and are just in awe...not a Paris or London type of awe...but an asian one, which is charming in a very different way.
After checking into our hotel we ventured out for a walk through the Hong Kong park, which was gorgeous. The entire city is geared up for co-hosting the Olympics so a major bonus is seeing "Beijing 2008" everywhere. We took the infamous tram to The Peak! Okay, I can honestly say this is the most incredible view I have ever, ever seen!!!!! You are situated on top of a mountain and look down at the lights of all of Hong Kong and neighboring islands. Plus...the buildings here are the tallest I have ever seen. Lights, lights and more lights! I cannot wait to post pictures of this sight!
I almost hyperventilated when walkding through the mall yesterday and saw boutiques for all the major names...Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci...the list goes on and on. Sadly, we just walked on by. I am trying to figure out a way to ditch the family and hang out on my own. Shhhhhh, don't tell! Today we are going to Stanley Market. a tailor and on a ferry ride...more adventures to come. Okay, we have come out of denial...D is not a taveler (he takes after me). He just wants to stay at the hotel and watch The Bee Movie! E, on the other hand, is just like M and soaks it all in...every single bit!

I promise I won't tell. Because I wouldn't know who to tell :)

Hong Kong is a place my friend went on a mission. She lives in Beijing now and had a baby the day after the earthquakes. Glad your safe..
